Traditional Chocolate Cream Pie
Traditional chocolate pudding is the base for this pie.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons Argo® Corn Starch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2-1/2 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 baked (9-inch) pie crust
- Whipped cream or thawed frozen whipped topping
Directions
- Combine sugar, corn starch and salt in a 2-quart saucepan. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Stir in egg yolks.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
- Spoon hot filling into pie crust. Cool 10 minutes on wire rack. Cover surface with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours or until cold.
- Spread whipped cream over filling before serving and keep cold.
