Swiss Cheese Fondue

A simple supper for a cold winter night.

Quick Facts

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces (3 cups) shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Argo® Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white ground pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons kirsch, optional
  • Crusty bread OR fresh vegetables

Directions

  1. Toss cheese, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt and  white pepper.

Heat wine, over low heat, in medium saucepan.  Heat until wine is hot and bubbles begin to form around edges.  Add cheese mixture gradually, a handful at a time, stirring until cheese is melted.  Stir constantly until all the cheese has been added.  Stir in kirsch, if desired.

Remove from heat and pour into fondue pot, small chafing dish or small slow cooker.  Serve with crusty bread or fresh vegetables.
