Coconut Almond Supreme Pie

This creamy pie packs a flavorful punch of coconut and almond and is sure to be a party favorite!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Argo® Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon imitation coconut flavor
  • 1 (9-inch) prepared chocolate pie crust
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 (1.4 ounces) chocolate bar, shaved
  • 1 cup flaked coconut, toasted
  • 2 cups whipped topping

Directions

  1. Combine milk and butter in a large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium high heat.  Combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt in a medium bowl.  Slowly whisk 1 cup of hot milk mixture into egg mixture. 

    Whisk egg mixture gradually back into remaining milk mixture.  Stir constantly for 4 to 5 minutes or until mixture is thick and creamy.  Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, almond and coconut extracts.  Pour pudding into pie shell.  Allow to cool to room temperature then chill for 2 hours. 

    Before serving, spread top of pie with whipped topping.  Place almonds in a circle in the center of the pie.  Make a ring of chocolate shavings around the almonds, then a ring of coconut extending to the edges of the pie.
